Chiropractic is an evidence-informed, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Chiropractors use a combination of treatments after taking a comprehensive health history, perform a detailed musculoskeletal physical examination and establish a diagnosis related to the spine, nervous system and joints.

Chiropractic treatment aims to correct dysfunctions related to muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. The main chiropractic treatment technique involves manual therapy, especially manipulation of the spine, other joints, and soft tissues, but may also include exercises, health, and lifestyle counseling.

Often chiropractors seek to ease pain and improve the viability of patients and lecture them on how they can be healthy through exercise, ergonomics, and other forms of therapies to promote optimal health and well being.
